ObjectiveTo explore the reproductive health status of male adolescents in junior middle school in Hezhou and the surgical situation of reproductive health diseases, so as to provide scientific basis for further reproductive health education and disease screening for male adolescents from junior middle school in Hezhou. MethodsFrom 2019 to 2020, a total of 1 217 male adolescents from junior middle school in three counties and two districts of Hezhou were examined for external genitalia and asked about their surgical situations related to reproductive health. ResultsAmong 1 217 male adolescents in junior middle school, the detection rate of diseases affecting male reproductive health reached 31.08%, and the operation rate was 15.25%. In 319 cases of redundant prepuce or phimosis, 41 cases underwent redundant circumcision. In 18 cases of concealed penis, 3 cases underwent penis plastic surgery. In 5 cases of hypospadias, 3 cases underwent hypospadias plastic surgery. In 4 cases of cryptorchidism, 3 cases underwent testicular descent and fixation. In 38 cases with varicocele, and 1 cases underwent spermatic vein ligation. In 11 cases of testicular hydrocele, 8 cases underwent testicular tunica vaginalis eversion. ConclusionThe prevalence rate of male adolescents′ reproductive health diseases from junior middle school in Hezhou is high, but the operation rate is low. It is recommended that schools and relevant health departments should strengthen the reproductive health consultation and education of male adolescents in junior middle school, add male reproductive health diseases screening in junior high school physical examination items, and improve the reproductive health level of male adolescents from junior middle school in Hezhou through early diagnosis and treatment of male reproductive health diseases.
