Effect of bronchoscopy and lung lavage on pulmonary function, quality of life and serum inflammatory factors in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of bronchoscopy and lung lavage on lung function, quality of life and inflammatory factors in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods74 patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease diagnosed at the First People’s Hospital of Baiyin from February 2015 to October 2017 were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 37 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with home oxygen therapy and budesonide/formoterol, and the patients in the observation group were treated with basal bronchial lung lavage in the control group. The lung function, serum inflammatory factor levels and quality of life were compared between the two groups before and after lavage. ResultsAfter 1 week of lavage treatment, FEV1% and FEV1/FVC were significantly higher in the observation group than before lavage and control group, serum interleukin-1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interferon gamma (IFN-γ), connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) levels were significantly lower than before lavage and control group, MRC score was lower than before lavage and control group, ADL (Barthel) score was significantly higher than before lavage and control group, the difference was Statistical significance (P<0.01). ConclusionAdministration of home oxygen therapy and budesonide/formoterol treatment and bronchoscopy lung lavage in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can effectively improve lung function, reduce airway inflammation and systemic inflammatory response, delay the progression of the disease, and improve the quality of life.
