Correlation between serum 8-hydroxyguanine levels and HbA1c and insulin resistance index of patients with coronary heart disease combined different stage of glucose metabolism
ObjectiveTo observed the level of serum 8-hydroxy-Guanine(8-OHdG) in patients with stable coronary heart disease combined with different stage of glucose metabolism.Methods80 patients with stable coronary heart disease were divided into normal glucose tolerance group(NGT group,n=23),impaired glucose tolerance group(IGT group,n=26) and type 2 diabetes mellitus group(T2DM group,n=28),according to the result of oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT).At the same time,23 health adults were recruited as normal control group(NC).Serum 8-OHdG of all the selected people were measured with ELISA method.ResultsThe concentration of serum 8-OHdG in T2DM group was (4.5±0.7) ng/ml,IGT group (3.8±0.9)ng/ml;NGT group (3.4±0.5) ng/ml.They were both significantly higher than that of the NC group[(2.9±0.7) ng/ml].Furthermore,there was a positive correlation between the levels of serum 8-OHdG and HOMA-IR and HbA1c in patients with stable coronary heart disease.ConclusionsSerum 8-OHdG level can reflect the stage of oxidative stress and may be used as an indicator for stable coronary heart disease patients combined with diabetes mellitus.
